Well i recently got my hp back up and running its a pavilion 250gbHD 2GBMEM with xp and well it kept over heating though it has two fans one on the CPU and one on the case not including the mini on the video card and its reaching temperatures of 150+*F and im trying to find a cpu temp meter and a more powerful fan can anyone help out?
deadparrot
Have you made sure there is enough contact between the CPU and heatsink? Tried using AS5?

is the case fan (exhaust fan) blowing out? is the tower enclosed in a tight spot with no air circulation? is the CPU heatsink clogged with dust?

You should clean out your case, I have had alot of problems like this where there is alot of dust in air cooled pc's. If there's alot of wires hanging inside try using cable tie's to tidy up any loose wires. If none of this helps think about where you have your pc. When I had this problem all i did was move my pc and all temps lowered by 10 degree's. Hope this helps
as for the cpu temp meter use this >>>> http://www.techspot.com/downloadget.php?id...c40feed4e4f3073
