Ok, ive gone through 2 GOW *retail* dvd's just to find out my drive was scratching the crap outta them, i replaced my drive its a Hitachi 46 now.

i would like to backup my 3rd GOW dvd so as i dont have to buy another one *i think ive bought enough already*

Reading tutorials im getting massively confused..

Is there a way i can use XBC 2.5 and backup my games?

i see i cant make a *complete backup* can someone post the easiest way to backup my GOW dvd (im not on highspeed so i cant download lots of crap)

i can get it in windows and its modded witht he new stealth software.

any help would be massively appreciated!

with a hitachi you cannot do complete backup (only samsung)

two choices:
1)wxripper for the game, look here (you may have to disassemble a pc drive for the hotswap),
and ss extracted with xbc (drivetools tab)
merge with ssmerger 1.7b
painful and long IMHO, but very feasible

2) acquire a shd162c (ide) or shd163A (sata) for your pc, and do the backup complete in one click as per Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn
if interested ( Xbox360 BST )

Thank you so much SOSO!

I got so bored i tore apart my dvd player and make my first backup *first try too*

PC DVD DRIVE: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B
Firmware: C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth (Hitachi)
Programs used: WXRipper/SS Merger 1.7b
Games Backed up (GoW, Defjam Icon)
Media Used: Memorex DVD+R DL (3-pack) (Futureshop)

**Used Shrek 2 (7.6 gigs)**
**had to re-dump a few times to get the CRC errors go away**

all i wanted to say was Awesome stuff man, i dont wanna buy yet ANOTHER dvd drive just to back up my games, glad this way worked out.

its long...but very rewarding after it works smile.gif

cheers SOSO, and thanks everyone who's contributed to getting this working in the first place smile.gif

2 outta 2 backups working beautifully!
