Hello. I have a softmodded xbox. I used NDure and installed EvoX. I can't get my xbox to connect to the internet. In EvoX I saw that there was no IP, and is MS Dashboard I went to Settings > Network > Xbox Live > Connect, and it said that my xbox wasn't plugged into a router or pc. I've tried connecting it to a router with a standard ethernet cable that I've tested (the cable is fine) and i've also tried to connect to my pc with a crossover cable (cable works fine as well). What can I do to get it to connect? All I want to do is be able to FTP to it.

If you are using router and ethernet cable, make sure EVOX net settings are set to DHCP
If crossover, straight to PC, set to static.
there is a link to FTP guide in my Sig.

I know, but it's not being assigned an IP either way. Both ways it comes up blank.

Do the activity lights on the router and xbox connection come on when you plug in the cable? If not and the cable is ok you have a hardware problem.

Well, i'm new to the xbox thing (obviously), but are they the lights that are on the small metal box where you plug in the crossover/ethernet cable? If so then no their not. So that's a hardware problem? Any idea of what hardware? Like eternet card?

On the router there will be indicator lights to show when a physical connection is plugged in, on the xbox at the back where you plug the ethernet cable in in the top corners there are 2 small leds one lights up to indicate a connection the other flashes when data is transfered. If these are not lit when the cable is plugged into both router and xbox and you no the cable is ok then its probable that the xbox nic has failed. If so you will need to take it to someone who can replace it.

If it is a hardware problem can it be fixed? Id really like to know how because my xbox definitely has a hardware problem with the ethernet. I would really appreciate any help.
