hey.

I have posted on a couple sites about this but i haven't gotten the right awnser yet. My xbox is connected to my computer by a crossover Ethernet cable. My computer uses a wireless USB adapter to my router. Whenever I turn on my xbox (if my xbox is connected to my computer) it always messes up my internet. My wireless connection will say it's connected, but it never works with ANYTHING (eg. msn, IE or Firefox). If i go to the status window of the connection, the "Bytes revieved" never changes or barely changes. I can not find a way to get them to both work at the same time.

My xbox settings are:
IP ADRESS: 192.168.1.5
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1

My internet settings (Local Area Connection / XBOX)
IP ADRESS: 192.168.1.4
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1

My WIRELESS Internet Settings are set to be obtained automatically.

how can i make both connections work at the same time? I have bridged the connection once, but when i did, the wireless wouldn't work even when my XBOX wasn't connected. At that time, the Local Area Connection settings got changed to be obtained automatically, and it said my xbox wasn't connected even though the lights on the back of my xbox were on...so i changed them to the normal settings (the ones listed above) and it showed the connection was connected but still, it didn't work.

thanks for any help you can give me.

Go to your internet connection and in properties go to advanced and enable ICS internet connection sharing, this will change you PC ip to 192.168.0.1 and should enable you connect to the net while the xbox is connected. it will also give the xbox internet access.

hey..i tried enabling ICS on my Local Area Connection. What happened is my wireless got set to "192.168.0.1" but the problem now is that my wireless connection MUST be '192.168.2.xx' (where xx is another number)
now, my internet won't work if i have my local area connection enabled, because DHCP set the Ip adress to 192.168.2.10 I think the reason it makes my wireless not work is because of the 2..is there any way to make DHCP make that a different number?

or is there something else i need to do to get this to work right?

thanks for any help.
