Ok I have a spare harddrive case for the 360 that I wanted to make use of. I also have a Toshiba MK2018GAS 20GB Laptop Hard Drive kicking around. Can I use this in the 360 harddrive case and then use it in the 360 if I transfer the code from my original drive to it?
I am trying to get away from buying a new drive for my spare 360 if possible.

Thanks

Nope, currently you can only do that with Western Digital 2.5" BEVS-LAT drives, and Western Digital 2.5" BEVS-RST drives... It is most definitely possible with other drives, but TheSpecialist has no plans on writing the code for them, simply because there is no need to. Western Digital is cheap on drives. And you can't just 'copy' it to the drive, you need sector 16, which is either encrypted or something, I'm not sure but I know it was a bitch for them to extract.

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=601813 is the topic for TheSpecialist's tool

Either get one of these drives and use HDDHacker v0.91 or buy an original. (Buy one on ebay, they're cheap, maybe even here on the scene you could get a cheap one.)

Thanks for the reply. I think I will try and get one off ebay, that way I am sure it will work.
