i have a samsung version a and want it to read all media and i have a dvd player that has a laser that i could remove and put in the dvd drive would this work if not where can i get the appropriate laser?

doubt it, I've never heard of it being done.

You have to buy the correct component. You can't simply swap lasers about from any DVD player into something different. Buy a Laser from Fleabay
