So i've got an old xbox v1.0 and recently it keeps freezing during game play or randomly restarting the game I was playing. Is there anyway to confirm it is the hard drive that's dying and not something else? (besides putting in a new hard drive which I don't have right now)
Here's what I've tried so far:
Booted from chip
Both locked hdd and unlocked
Booted from softmod
Cleared cash drives
Tried different games.
One thing to note is it played through a whole DVD with out freezing. (The dvd was in the drive, not a back up on the hdd)
