I have an MS28 and 5.2A and have been having more and more trouble over the last month or so reading my backups. I originally was burning with an old NEC ND-2510A. Having read that the Pioneer 11X series seems to be the preferred choice for burning backups, I bought a 112d(1.06 FW) and the reading problem hasn't improved in fact it seems to be getting worse since I started using the Pioneer. I always use Verbatims and burn at the recommended 2-2.4x speed.

I have tried both CloneCD and Imgburn and the results don't seem to be any better with either. I haven't had any disc just flatout not work but often have dirty disc, mixed media disc, and freeze problems. I haven't had any problems with my original discs so it definitely seems to be related to backups. I wonder if my drive isn't on the verge of going bad...

You cannot just throw your post in a thread, the thread you posted in is about perceived problems with iXtreme 1.2 not backup issues (with 5.2!!!).

How have you done the backup?

My apologies, I wasn't trying to thread hijack, just pointing out that I'm seeing the same issues on non 1.2 firmware trying to convey that it may not be necessarily 1.2 but could be several other things too...
