Only 480p, 720p, 1080i.... perfect is absolutely perfect. However, when I run the Xbox 360 @ 1080p (over component), 50% of the time I will get a perfect image, and the other 50% of the time, I'll get distortion.
"Distortion" -- random purplish lines appearing on the screen in random places, very annoying
My Samsung TV is brand new and is the latest Samsung has to offer... I highly doubt it's the TV, but you never know. It views 720p and 1080i perfect.
***Also, 1080p works perfect over VGA... but looks worse because digital enhancements have to be disabled***
Any ideas that you may have would help me out a great deal. I tried disabling all of the digital enhancements (edge sharpening, lowering dynamic ratio, etc.)... still no luck. Is it a bug with 360?
Please help, thanks!
Note: The same thing happens on two separate Xbox 360 consoles
*EDIT: I am using high-quality Monster Cables for the Component Connection* --same result as the cables made by Microsoft
