Im currently running an xbox 1.6b + X3 chip with latest bios + 500 GIG hard disk. I would like to upgrade to a 1000 GIG drive. Is anyone using one of these drives, if so how do you have the drive split up, i.e. number of partitions plus partition size. I know on my 500 GIG drive if I had my partition size larger than 250 GIG I would get data corruption.

It will work.

You must:

-format F & G in 32k clusters

-Split F & G evenly

then your all good.

However I would wait for seagates 1TB model to roll out shortly, they may have a pata one so you dont have to use a sata adapter.

Thanks for the prompt reply capboy. I guess ill wait for the pata drive.

Thanks again Bezel...

Oh yeah forgot to mention, I would do some research to make sure that these new 1TB HDD's are lockable if you want to run originals on the stock bios or play on live. I'm not entirely sure if the Hitachi 1TB hdd's are lockable.

But if you don't care for live or the stock bios etc.... hdd locking is not needed with a X3 BIOS.

Not to worried about locking the drive, I just use it for my media. Its just a shame it wont do HD playback.

Thanks Bezel...
