Right, well i recently splashed out and got a 360 premium, haven't had any red rings or anything like that so am happy so far.

I'm trying to connect live/xlink kai to the laptop and it's just not having it at all. I'm using the ethernet cable from the 360 to laptop and with TwonkyMedia i've been able to set it up to connect via UPnP and can stream music/photos/videos that way without issue. To do this i had to specify the IP address of the 360 and laptop rather than use DCHP although every time i've made a NIC - NIC connection DCHP has never worked so i assume thats normal. There is a connection between the xbox and the laptop

Now, when i turn the wireless back on the laptop and try and connect to live with the 360 it gets as far as checking the DNS servers and then can't find any. I've tried specifying the DNS and gateway as the router on both the laptop and 360, and also tried specifying the IP address of the wireless adapter as the gateway and/or DNS server which made no difference. Basically it seems my laptop won't bridge the wireless to the ethernet and i can't figure out why huh.gif

The most annoying part is, when i tried to do the same thing with my xbox 1 and computer a while ago, even though the windows was throwing hissy fits and not letting me browse the web or FTP to the xbox i was able to play halo 2 online fine with xlink kai. Was exactly the same, xbox connected to computer with ethernet, computer connected to router with wireless, and xbox was playing online. Typical iamwithstupid.gif Feeling like i've missed something really simple or stupid but i've done it in the past and it worked ph34r.gif

Laptop is running windows XP sp2 btw.

Ive had problems with xlink too (too cheap to buy xbl gold wink.gif )

anyways, I would ask this question on the xlink forums, you would probably get better responses.

This is my current layout that works

Internet Modem----------->Modem Uplink
PC ------------------------->Router network uplink
Xbox----------------------->Router Network Uplink

And if you use wireless rather having a modem by your room, try to share the connecion via ethernet, or bridge them.
