My sister and GF both have new notebooks with built in SuperMulti drives that can burn DVD+RW DL media.

One notebook is a budget Compaq, the other an upper-end HP.

Can I use these to burn game copies or do I need a specific brand DVD burner?

Thanks for your advice.

it depends, how will you do the backup (getting the game file)

I have about 15 games. Well, 14 because my vertical xbox tipped with Rainbow Six: Vegas inside and chewed it up sad.gif sad.gif

So, in order to make sure this never happens again I flashed with xtreme52 (Samsung MS28 drive) I won't be playing on Live whatsoever, to make sure I don't break TOS.

So, I'm going to be ripping directly off other discs. Will this work in the DVD+RW DL drive? uhh.gif

I'm a noob and will take any information you can provide. I've read the stickies/googled, but all refer to Pioneer DVD drives...

if you do your backups with XBcreator/schtrom and a ms28, then they should be OK.

as far as burning, most burner will do. Not point in buying a new one until you have tried the ones you have, if they do DL, chances are good they will work.

if they dont, a pioneer in usb enclosure works for many.
