hello i have recently obtained an xdk motherboard from ebay which is working fine. however i wanted to make it like my other xbox (1.0 that i had the ram upgraded on) so that i could use xbox media center. so i moved my x3 from the xbox i already had to the new one. now when i boot it up with the chip on it frags. it still boots fine with the chip off. i have tried to boot flashbios with no luck and also redid the DO. is there any other reason this wouldn't work?

Modchips do not work on xdk boards unless it is flashed with the debug bios, which is the exact same as a retail xdk bios. xdk boards use an x2 mcpx, retail boxes use an x3 mcpx you need an x3 mcpx in order to boot a hacked bios.

no it is not flashed it has the retail xdk bios. so it will not work? after the chip would not boot i was afraid of this. is there any other way to run xbox media center on this motherboard?

thanks

softmod?

i've tried but it wont boot up any xbox games i guess because of the bios. i might try to mod the drive in another xbox and move it over.
