I really like this mate and, in some ways, it's better than the current PM3 home screen...it does indeed lend itself to new possibilities for home-screen editing!

Quick request though. When you are playing music and the visualization is playing in the background, can you make it so that it covers the complete background in the home screen. As of now it just plays in the right 3/4 of the screen. Most likely because that was all that was needed in the original PM3.

I think this has answered everyones questions about what should be done with the pm3 home page, I havent tried it yet, but do the background images reflect the current pm3 images?

The only thing that I think still needs to be addressed with pm3 is a pop out menu bar for the common views, Vision and a few others have this, and I think this really makes effective use of the space.

That's very nice!! The ideas about slide out menu's in PM3 is exactly how i was going to do "PM3 Horizons". As i wanted to use more of the screen for all video's/music/tv shows/etc. I thought either having a slideout menu, or just placing the buttons toward the top. Great way of doing the home page. Nice looking!! Thanks for sharing that with us.

Any ideas why can't I see the 3d view list option in music?
I also can't see the 3d wrap view in Blackbolt-Classic either but xTv has the tilted video library.

I have the newest builds of xbmc and all skins from the svn repository

I think its in folder view only.

whenever i try to check this it hangs my box.....happens when im on the home screen and and scroll to video, everytime i get onto the video image (before i can even select it) the whole box freezes up - is it just me?

I downloaded the file from the link, but my home screen still looks like the regular PM3 skin??

Ok yes its nice but am I missing something here that your not apart from the home screen which is very nice the only real difference I see is a transperant back drop instead of the normal one

jezz_X does has a point, but that still does not detract from the fact that it looks nice. I just wish those Background images would fade in when selecting a menu item, rather than just popping up.

And the texture over the album covers is just not a great solution.

I can add the fading, i'll make it an option, because it will make the navigation look slow.

And what do u mean by the texture over the album covers?

Home screen looks perfect for widescreen TV's.

I was only thinking of the homescreen. Please do not take this the wrong way, because I appreciate the work you have done for PM3 and it really is a fantastic skin originally, but the homescreen is getting kind of stale. Mainly because it's been the default skin for a couple of years and I'm just (too) used to seeing it, but also because the homescreen animations is kinda - unnatural. I remember when they were added, I thought they were a bit unnecessary. Anyways, with all the latest features that's been revamping the skin (like the coverflow view which is probably the coolest thing ever), I just think that this mod updated the skin (read: homescreen) in a right direction and tied the total look together.

Props to you both for you work, and by all means I did not mean to step on any toes, espescially not yours Jezz_X because over the years I've been here at this forum, I've noticed one person in particular doing a huge effort and carrying the evolvement of XBMC skins - you baby. Salute! I really appreciate it!

for a while now I've been thinking that the current pm3 home screen doesn't quite fit anymore with the rest of the evolving skin. (transparency glass look, and more modern/sleek)

this is a step in the right direction for the home screen to go ..

I love the current PM3 skin Jezzx... . and hope in the future the homescreen will be more customizable with more transparency and modern looks. I hope the ideas you got from this mod go towards the excellent evolution of this skin (Pm3)

I looked at the xpr a long time ago and forgot if it was possible to do it or not (you hit the a button and a pause blade comes out).

I love this skin but again it tells me just like all the cool skins that it needs to be 2.00 or higher.

Cant people just make things compliant with the most up to date material? Is that not even the case? Whats the deal with this, all the skins that I DL latley give me this message.

i don't know what you guys are doing. i am using it on newer builds without a problem. i get a new build once every month or so, move the skin to the new version, and everything works fine.

Why don't people just don't understand that the error is not about the version of dashboard. The error specifically states that the SKIN not the dash needs to be a higher version.

what? i understand that pre 2 skins don't work on post 2 dashes. what i am saying is that i haven't had any problems running pm3mod. i did not give a solution, because the skin worked when it first came out on whatever the current build was running at the time, and it has worked for me on the next 6 or 7 builds i've used since, including the newest one.

I fell in love with this skin, it's so clean and compact. I don't have any knowledge in skinning to do major updates, but i did manage to update the DialogBusy.xml to look like the current build PMIII skin. Anyone here know how to add Script in the home screen?

He is just saying that it works for him, no where did I see any direct argument on his part saying that you or anyone else are stupid and don't have the latest build...

After a lot of trail and error i manage to set scripts launcher in home menu.

Where did you see any direct argument on my part. All I am saying is that its not a problem with the date of the build nor is it a problem with the skin so what else can we be doing wrong. Regardless, when you reply to something with the first line being that of which he replied in one knows what they are getting to now wouldn't they ? I also never said he was calling anyone stupid. That was a point I just felt like making seeing on how so many other people ( not him ) do say it must be the build dates.

I guess I only sound so argumentative because some people reply to my posts with crap like this. What other way would I reply without it sounding as if we are now engaging in a debate ( wait,... I actually don't recall any posts ending in arguments )?

Besides, if I am only asking for advice why would I argue instead of considering it. I obviously don't know the answer or I wouldn't be asking so it would be pointless to argue over whether that person is right or wrong wouldn't it?

In my last post I WAS "argueing" you in a sense which is why I had all of your little quotes.

One thing, I am not complaining about anything. I just want to use this skin. Saying I am complaining is a bit far. I didn't complain about anything I asked a question on why I would be getting this error.


Now back to business. Has anyone figured out a reason on why I would get a message like this if I have the latest XBMC?

I like this skin as you can tell allot and I actually get this message with some other skins but I just for the life of me cant find out why. I imagine I have some kind of flaw somewhere on my behalf but I do have all the latest stuff that I am sure of cause I just started using XBMC maybe about 2 months ago ( making sure I got the most recent date ) and I made sure to get this newest build from T3CH.
