i'm looking to make a switch to toggle between 2 harddrives... anyone know a site that has one?
EvilWays
HDD switchers for PCs suck ass, as they take as long as 20 seconds to mount. My 0.02 on those...

You could use a Y-splitter for power and either a rotary switch (4 Pole whatever Throw) or 2 DPDT since you need to control both the 12v and 5v rails. Might need some extra wire as well (I think it's 18 gauge, but I'm not sure).

Sorry for the messy pic...

It doesn't matter if there's four or six "tabs" to solder the wire to.

One switch controls one drive while the other controls the second drive. just don't have both on at the same time.

what about the ide cable.. just crimp on a new connector?
EvilWays
If you have an IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector, scrapes away insulation from an IDE cable as it crimps the connectors on) and the neccessary connectors, then it's no prob.

Check this site out. http://208.34.209.68/411gb/411gb.htm
This guy connects three hard drives and puts a switch to select the one he wants. very cool.

A rotary switch. Already mentioned that. I'm gonna do something similar to that, but I'm looking to use a Beantech BT-70 case (with a little rework of course).

Thats gonna be sweet!

If you have a 2 position switch you can wire it up like this and only have one HD turned on at once
