Hi,
I am looking to buy a cheap external usb or firewire dvd drive which will allow me to do the hot-swap procedure used by wxRipper to backup my xbox 360 games.
Can anyone recommend a good model to do this?
Thanks,

why not just get one of the samsung pc drives and flash it with the kreon firmware? those are only $40 or so and don't need hotswapping or anything. also, i'm not sure if the hotswapping method is able to get all the data from a disc or not. you will have to do a search to see if it can create stealth backups or not.

As far as I know they are not external. I only have a laptop so a traditional IDE drive won't work. I need one with USB or FireWire connectivity.

You can put any internal drive in an external case....
