about a year ago i created a skin called xperience. By the time the skin
was almost complete i was sicken tired of the whole skin as i had
used to much time and energy for some weeks.
About two months ago i picked this skin up again and decided to make a 2.0 release
and change all the stuff i wasn't happy with.

I've been workin in a more slow pace this time around and actually enjoy making this
And i didnt want to post anything in here before i was about 80% done with the skin.

So here i am starting to se the end of production time. This skin is all about media center since
this is the only thing i use my xbox for. Also simplicity and easy to see/read was a goal with this skin.

The only mode i gonna support for the first release is PAL 16x9. Maybe i will do fixes for 720p and 1080 if i feel like it. If there is some interest in this skin i could gladly release a complete package including all original
gfx/psd artwork etc. So it would be easy for others to do mods etc. who knows

Anyhow i guess in a week or two i gonna release it if im happy. Still some tweaks and adjustments needed.

Okay progress is going nicely along. I have now added
all new truetype fonts wich i think look nicer and they also are unicode
fonts wich mean all languages is supported

Cleaned up the homepage stuff and fixed minor details here and there.

All major stuff left now is all the Video section things, prettying up all dialogs.
And then all those 100s small things wich make everything look nice together !

Hell if everything is going as nice as this i might rel a early beta

I like your taste in music.

very very nice.... only quirk i think is the transparency of the background looks foggy and dull...I think it look would sweet with a clearer transparency effect like in the vision skin

Music is important when skinning.

The icons i have actually bought from the web. I bought them last year when
i created the first version of this skin.

Gonna take a look at the transparency panels. Maybe they need some tweaking. Im just afraid that with
to much transparency it would get hard to read cause stuff in the background is cluttering up the space.
But i gonna check out vision and steel it from nineTmustang ... lol

I actually would say that your background wouldn't look as nice if it was completely "there" or transparent or whatever... vision's looks nice because the background is subtle while your's is very much more complex... so a background like yours, in my opinion, would look best being a little blurred like you have it so as to not detract from the skin's other features and text.

Yup thats what i also think. Besides if users are going to change
their background to whatever it makes sence that the panels are
quite dark. Cause if a user is putting on a very bright background with
alotta stuff he wouldent see the imprtant things in the skin
But maybe i can make a user selection for the panel transparecy. one with
much transparancy and one setting with little transparency...

I'm always open for good sugestions !

I revisited the original Xperience skin the other week and now, after seeing your pics, I'm revisiting my 'Art Of Noise' collection.

Lol you do that. And if you need to fill up on some holes in that
collection i have alotta art of noise

I would like to point out that while the XBMC_PC window is focused pushing prtscrn button on your keyboard will take a proper screen shot like right click on the xbox does (if you havn't set it it will even ask you where to save it)
So you don't need to show the window frame

iI decided to make a pre release if someone wants to give this concept

Things who is not done at all:
All library views in video section
Most dialogs needs font fix.
OSD for video

Things who needs more tweaking:
Fonts here and there
some dialogs needs fixing even more
Need to add one final library view vich is the info view type.
Animations needs more tweaking
and all other small bits and pieces


PS! VERY IMPORTANT:
you need to calibrate your 16x9 screen cause this skin is at the moment a little odd in aspect. Just
adjust until you see black borders then adjust a little back again. (both horizontal and vertical)
If you dont calibrate you will loose info in the graphics. this skin is maximized for 16x9 Joy
Also i havent made any xpr file so all graphics are just as png files under media folder...
There is a bug in the settings sub category so the buttons are not visible, but they work

wow man youre doing some great work on this skin....i like it!

liking the skin so far...only minor gripe i have is that on the home screen, the icons look weird all stretched out looking

I gonna fix those icons on the home screen. they have wrong aspect ratio on them.
I was also thinking about adding wide icon views to the library view in the video section when i start
there. If you wanna try with other wallpapers just replace the homeback.png in the media folder.
i dont know have this skin is with other bakcgrounds since i never had the time to test it. But changing
the homeback.png would give you a new background trough the whole skin. In final release i gonna
add option so you can select a folder of images that cycles trough.

Been a little slow progress the latest days. busy doing real life you know
But i have started ironing out the video library views.

Btw Jezz X... Printscreen in XBMC pc doesent work to well actually. Or it works but
it doesent give you a correct 16x9 screendump. it's becomes a 4:3 image and looks really
awfull. Maybe i need to update my version.

It takes an exact shot of what the screen pixels are Pal 4x3 and Pal 16x9 are both 720x576 rez XBMC will do the same you will either have to resize it or switch to somthing better like 720p and that will give you a proper shot

Even if your skin were trash I'd post that I like your taste in music
