I just posted this at the end of my other thread, but as the topic of that thread doesn't relate, i will start a new thread. any info is greatly appritiated...........
well, Im a little bummed out. I followed the guide,(RDC samsung laser replacment guide) got the new laser installed and everything. Powerd up the 360, and got the same thing as I always get. The laser flashes on twice, then nothing, doesn't spin the disk nothing, after about 30 sec or so, the laser "eye" jumps down and up and makes a clicking sound. Its very disapointing(especially after I just bought a HD for it and an extra wireless controller in anticipation of halo 3)
So what else could it possibly be? it won't read anything.(i've gotten it to read CDs a few times(before laser change), but it was kinda random) could it be the motor that spins the CD? im not sure how it usually works, but when I put anything in, the laser flashes twice then nothing. a couple times I put the drive in without its case,(suspecting mabye the motor had trouble) I would close the drive with a cd in, and as soon as the laser would flash I would manually "start" the spinning proccess, and it would jump and start spinning for like half a sec. I really dont know what to do from hear forward. I really want a working 360. but Im getting so frustrated I feel like just selling it off. Anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks.
