My problem is that I have managed to get two Xbox Live gamertags associated with one Live ID which is annoying as when I sign in to Xbox.com I can't view the account of the first gamertag as it always displays the second one. I know they're associated with one Live ID thanks to customer support who are no help at all...

How I got this problem is as follows:

1) I created an Xbox Live Gamertag on the original Xbox - this is associated with the Live ID XXXX@hotmail.com

2) A few years later when the 360 is out I registered a Silver Gamertag on Xbox.com and associated it to the Live ID XXXX@hotmail.com without any problems.

As the account created in step 2) is only a silver account and I obviously want to use my gold account that I've had since step 1) what do you think my options are?

Can MS unassociate the second gamertag from the Live ID?

I'm yet to migrate the account from step 1) to my 360 but have a horrible feeling it will fail due to the gamertag from step 2)...
