From engadget.com:
Hard drive Zunes * It's called the Zune 80 and, shockingly enough, it has 80GB of storage. * Uses the new Zune Pad -- four way touch-sensitive d-pad (with up, down, left, and right buttons). * It will sell for $250 (with "premium" headphones). * Available only in black (to start). * Screen size has increased to 3.2-inches (from 3-inches). As far as we know the resolution is still QVGA. * The classic Zune will now be known as the Zune 30 -- it's not going anywhere. More on that in a sec.
New flash Zunes * Zune 8 and Zune 4 are the names for the 8 and 4GB flash based models. * Also uses the Zune Pad. * These will sell for $200 and $150 respectively. * Both will be available in pink, green, black, and red. * It will feature a 1.8-inch screen (compare to the nano's 2-inch screen).
Everything else * New Zunes ship in November, date not yet announced. * All Zunes (including the Zune 30) will have a new, redesigned interface and feature parity. In other words, early Zune 30 adopters will have all the same software features as new Zune 80, 8, and 4 users. * Additional native video codecs for h.264 and MPEG-4 -- users no longer need transcode those file types to WMV. * WiFi sync to host computer! Includes moving over music, movies, photos, podcasts, etc. * The 3x3 song sharing DRM has had its three day restriction removed, but users can still only play files three times. * There is still NO wireless music store. * The Zune music store is going DRM-free, with over 1m MP3 tracks being made available for download. Other details (like which labels, whether there is a DRM-free upgrade path is for users who've bought music with DRM, price differences, etc.) are not yet revealed.
Wow! They still make those things? Have only ever seen one person with a Zune and they got it as a gift.

I just picked one up off of woot for $150. Pretty cool device, and the new listed features will really quell some of my complaints! WiFi sync to host PC is awesome! Finally maybe someone will actually USE the built in wireless stuff! Smart move by MS to allow the old model adopters to use the new UI.

this is the news i've been waiting for. i owned a v1 zune for a few weeks but returned it because 30gb was not enough. the wifi sync will be very cool. i'll be picking one up when they come out. now ms just needs to come out with a reliable fm transmitter. what a god-awful experience their current one is...

Awesome. I think I may go for an 8GB black one. Idk.
I have a black 30GB Zune. I use it almost daily... mainly for music. Idk if I'm willing to sacrifice 22GB for a smaller device though

Its still gonna be hard for the Zune to do good in the market. With all the competition and IPOD having tops in the market, it will be really tough. IPOD has so many addons that it makes it hard to compete with. Until they come out with car adapters for a zune, I wouldnt touch one. I had one and I didnt like it. It messed up all my music files. I had self edited the tags myself and the tracks were all scattered thanks to the zune. So I dont know what happened with that.

Where's the signature brown?

(Yes, I'm serious)

^^ I always thought the brown looked a bit dodgy.
Over here in Australia, I dont even know if these things exist. I have NEVER seen one, either owned by someone, or advertised. Ever. The only time i ever hear about the zune is through here. If they want market dominance, or even a place, they're gonna have to advertise.
But on a normal note, they look pretty cool, and i would consider getting one if i wasnt so in love with my almost perfect 80gig ipod video.

throw in xvid / divx one day and im in for 2! out the window goes my archos and ipod shuffle for an all in one media center device.
80GB as the largest size Zune is really too small considering Apple has an iPod that is twice as large. To me its a little disappointing that 80GB is the largest Zune available.

I just hope that they can fix that crappy software that you need to use with zune... And does anyone know if they are adding native support for disk use?

I was at an Incubus concert here in the US and they had Zune advertisements all over. Other than that, the advertising I've seen for the Zune was minimal.

Touch-sensitive pad?
I'm sticking with my 30gig for now then... I hate anything that has the main input being touch sensitive... Nothing is more frustrating than pressing a button, and waiting a second to make sure it reads the right button, and then accidentally swiping your hand over the screen and hitting every other button (I've got a verizon chocolate cellphone... thank god at least the number pad isn't touch sensitive). I like being able to reach blindly into my pocket where my zune is and press a button to go to the next song or control the volume.

Wow amazing.. If this thing has the same type of finish the first zunes had Microsoft will have my money yet again.
that as soon as they release a Zune 80 Pink
only reason i'm getting it is for my SuicideGirls Zune. A Device just for all their lovely pictures.
as for Touch sensitive perhaps they'll put in a Touch Lock. Which would be nice.

Eh. The zune1's UI was extremely slow compared to the ipod, so I don't think i'll be upgrading to the new zune.
And the new ones are just as unattractive.
iPod touch it is.
