Just Curious if the Guitars from Guitar Hero 2 are going to work with Rock Band. I would hope so, considering they're both made by Harmonix. Does anyone know?

i wouldnt count on it. the rock band ones have extra buttons on the fretboard.

How about the other way around?

I was hoping those extra buttons on the fret were just for a younger audience. Since they were the same color and order as the other one's, was figuring they were intendid for kids. But I could see it being a way to hit higher notes instead...........god, I hope not, I'm having enough trouble with the 4 buttons on medium, let alone making it 10 buttons!!!

From what I've read, those extra buttons are just clones of the ones above and are intended to help with tapping for some songs, but can still be done with the top buttons so the GH2 guitar should work fine.

The GHII guitar, hmm not sure - but i do know that the wireless GH3 Guitar does work, and the extra fret buttons work like the normal fret buttons, until the end of a song where you can just hit them and not strum for the bonus. You have to strum if you use the normal fret buttons or the GH3 guitar. Other than that they work exactly the same. The GH2 guitar works on GH3 so, even though I have not tried - I bet that it would work on rock band as well!

GHIII Wired also definitely works with Rock Band. Actually purchased the GHIII buundle for that reason.

Yeah it does, I have one. But Rock band controller only works on Rock band.
