Hello again fellow gamers. It's been awhile since I last been here but Im in need of some advice and help. Im trying to extend the Xbox 360 power wire inside the the xbox. Im working on a plexiglass case and Im almost finished and iwll post pics. My only problem is the original DVD power wire is too short to extend the drive for the new bay Im working on. One member here offered me a way to extend the wires but I lost contact. Im good at wirring things but want to know what is the proper wires to use to extend the DVD power wire??? Any help would help. Thank you.

Are you looking to extend the power cable to the dvd drive (the connector with a whole bunch on wires on it), or extending the sata cable (the short, thick, black cable)?

If you trying to extend to the power cable, you could just solder another wire to each individual wire on the connector, but that can be time consume, especially for someone who doesn't have any solder work experience.

If your looking to lengthen the sata cable, you can just buy a sata cable that's made for a desktop. They will give you at least 12" to work with.

Check out my RROD Case Mod in my Sig. I extended the DVD power cable for an external drive.

I just cut the wires one by one and extended them using a solder joint for the best conection, then wrapped the cables tightly with electrical tape, works a treat. I think there is 10 wires to cut and extend so i advise doing them one at a time so you dont get your wires crossed, if ya know what i mean.

Hope that helps
