Which format are you buying (both if you are)?

How many movies have you bought for that format?

If you have both formats, list your HD-DVDs and Blu-Rays separate. And any freebies you got (Toshiba deal, free Blu-Ray with PS3, etc.) put a note beside.

Just trying to gauge about how much some have spent and which format they're investing in. And before it starts, lets keep this as civil as possible and not turn this into a HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray war thread.

I just got an HD-DVD player last Friday (early black Friday deals) and already have 6 HD-DVDs All the ones I've gotten though have only been $15 or $20. I won't really spend too much till one format wins though, but since one broke the affordable price-range I figured I'd throw some money their way to help get things moving along hopefully.

I own neither, I don't even own an HDTV.

I bought my brother a Toshiba HD-A2 with 300 and Serenity for his wedding about a month ago. He owns a 720p Samsung Plasma. I have no idea what other movies he has now.

I currently own neither. I'm still a little wary of one of the new formats becoming obsolete. However, going by price and judging by what I've seen in stores (demo displays) I'll be choosing HD-DVD. The price of the 360 add-on + the 5 free movies is way too good a deal to pass up. I'm just waiting to find the best sub £100 deal before the free movie offer ends in January before I pick one up.

Picked up 2 more HD-DVDs yesterday. So I'm up to 8 already (without my 5 freebies)

Both great movies. Suprisingly I hadn't ever seen ACO before, but got it considering the reviews I'd read on it, turned out to be one of the best movies I've ever seen.

missus is getting me hd-dvd drive for xmas, and will get a ps3 when i can afford it, so im supporting both

i dont care for either format, i just love HD

So I'm up to 15 HD-DVDs already, and that's not including my 5 freebies (which I probably won't get for another month). Anybody got me beat?

I originally didn't want to invest in either format, but when the A2 hit the $100 mark I decided to buy it. Then I decided I'd stay away from buying too many movies until one was declared the winner. Then I realized that buying a player and no movies wouldn't really help anything. So my new and current philosophy is to buy as many as I can, and as long as most or even some of the other HD-DVD supporters do then HD-DVD has a chance of winning. Same for Blu-Ray IMO too, if nobody buys into either format, neither will ever win. So IMO the best thing to do is pick a format and buy as many movies for it as you can. But you can always get screwed with either format you pick, so for many the best thing to do is just wait it out till one is declared an official winner.
