Recently XBMC added a new feature that alows us to have our own strings.xml for the skins the same way that XBMC has its.
For you translators this means that you will need to redo your translation files into a new format (the same as XBMC) Translate.xml is no more and has been deleted from the skin in svn.

The good news is
* You only need to do little updates to your file at a time from now on.
* XBMC will auto switch the language of the skin when you change XBMC's language
* We can include all the language files in the mc360 skin download.
* Like XBMC any strings missing from your translation will default back to English so mc360 will still run when it gets updated and adds more
* Once you get the initial translation done you can use XBMC translation tool to keep it up to date easy http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....XBMC_Translator.
* I have gone through the strings and delete the ones not used in the skin so less to translate for you

Please note to use these files you will need XBMC revision 10780 or higher this means unless you can compile your own you need to wait for the next t3ch. I would however like a versions of the strings.xml file so we can add them to a release of mc360 after the hext t3ch comes out.

When I translated something, I just realize that you have written “…Perform System Mantainance, Including:…” I think that you have to spell Mantainance as
Maintenance – just a detail.

Just a note for people using Chinese (Traditional) you will need to find the unicode version of Arial or I guess another font that supports the characters copy it into your XBMC install and select Arial as your font type in settings

Was working on a translation, but jelle-e finished the Dutch one already, but found a bug and an unset label in MC360.

An label in the Profile Manager doesn't work, it shows just the string ID:



And when you go to Guide > Personal Settings > Clear All Settings, the header label of the dialog is not in the language file:

I would like to point out that the english file has been updated a little to include strings from the various scripts mc360 uses like gamercard update and others. So if your feeling up to it there is a new verison of the language file same link as the first post. No rush though because the skin will just keep using english for those missing ones until you update.

Like I said try and use the translator app because it shows you the missing ones like this (french file)

I used the Translator this time, but the new strings.xml, it gave me out, dont work.
It gives me the updated strings still in English.

Update:
Ok, maybe it is "likely", but I still do not understand the meaning of the sentence.

yashijoe basically its only the first half of a sentence because mc360 uses very small width on the side blades we had to cut up the sentences in the scripts.
The full thing would say

Okay, this is a Greek (EL) translation.

Please inform us as to what font encoding might be needed to view greek in XBMC360. I did the string file on Openoffice, in Greek Ubuntu distro with UTF-8 encoding.

"Greek (EL)" is that the same as the Greek folder of XBMC or is it somthing different ? Because only ones that match XBMC will work

OK, I did it as [carriage return] at the work's PC with notepad, I upload it as .txt file though, couldn't convert it to XML myself there. Hope that helps. Excuse my newbiness, this is my first time interacting with .xml files.

How did you get your translation app. to work.

It just worked after the installation. The only thing I did was put the english strings.xml file in a folder called English and select 'New Language' from the File menu.

As I understood I have also translated the “M360 User, just signed in” – It seems that this is not translated even I have done it.



Is the team behind M360 aware of the problem?
