i know its a little late to respond since black friday is long gone but the best time would either be right after christmas (old model sales) or right after the super bowl when sports fans return tvs they used to just watch the super bowl.

No way! That happens? What a plan, don't think anyone in the UK would do that for Cup Final day
Also, Tax time is a good time of year. I bought a 52" Panasonic DLP that was supposed to be $1700 for $1000. I'm still very happy with it.
