Here's what happened, i have a 2nd hand xbox360 (unflashed) with hitachi drive that i flashed with the latest fw at the time (before the first banning occured). I played with it on live a couple of times (disks were stealth even though my fw wasnt), but when the bannings started i didnt play on live anymore but i could still connect to it. After that i didnt bother changing fw to the latest ixtreme cause i started playing only with original games.
So for the following months i played with originals on live and everything was ok, but today i try to connect and it seems i'm banned, cause i got the same Z code.

What i'm trying to say is for those who are saying that the problem is from discs, its not! I've been playing since the first bannings with original games and i've also been banned!

Hope that helped.

The problem with the old hitachi firmware was that it showed all discs even original as being non-original to the XBLive disc enquiries.

Why close a thread down becuase there is talking of playing backups on Live, when this site condones making the information available to modify a drives firmware? (which last I checked, the sole reason for doing that is to play "backups")

It makes no sense.

Is that so? So ixtreme was the only decent hitachi fw?
So why wasnt i banned the first time?

lets not turn this thread into an argumentative thread about why the other thread was closed. It was closed because people we're talking about playing releases on LIVE, and also playing backups violates the XBOX LIVE TOS...therefore is also against the rules of this forum. This forum is meant to help those who want to legitimately make backups of their purchased originals. The people who don't follow these rules and are to stupid to lie about what their making backups for need to be banned and their threads closed end of story...

If you are playing a non-original game on Live you deserve to get banned as far as im concerned whether or not you own the original.

So playing backups on live is against the TOS but just playing backups MSFT is cool with that?

I don't get it either....but who am I to judge

Live is a service, you can put rules on access to a service.

Your Xbox is entirely yours, you bought it and you can do with it what you like.

That's the difference.

Is MS "cool" with you playing backups on your Xbox? No probably not, but it's your xbox, not much they can say about what you do with it.

Live is THEIR service so they can say what's ok and what's not on it.

It makes no sense.

Closed threads have nothing to do with you. It is also against rules to question a thread closure in public.
We also don't want to hear the old line you trotted out about XS policy. This sites policies are made very clear. Live with them and abide by rules or leave. It really is that simple
