Hey yall, I just updated to iX 1.3 on my Sammy MS28, and have a few questions. I dont know if Im banned yet, I left my Xbox at my mothers house over vacation, it hasnt been connected to live in a few days, so I hope its okay. Anyway, what is worrying me, is a few of my backups.

My Dead Rising backup stop working, out of the blue once I updated to 1.2 a while back. I assumed it was because I failed to stealth patch it, is that correct? If I failed to stealth patch it, and it refuses to play, am I safe? Or is it by simply TRYING to boot it, it logged the failed sectors, and im probably going to be banned? Im at a loss, and am worried I will have to buy a new console. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do apologize if this is the wrong place to post, the other thread was shut down? My backups are my own, but like I said, I must have failed to stealth patch Dead Rising. My other backups play fine (Assassins Creed, COD4 etc).

Now i dont know if any of this extra info help at all if anything. But i will explain what i do everyday. Im not on auto sign in. I turn on the system with no profile on and not connected to the internet.
(Its always disconnected from the console when if im not playing online or chatting w/some1).
I get to the dashboard and begin to start my game up. (i do this with originals and backups).
Once the game starts ,thats when i sign online. Now your probabbly wondering "why does he disconnect when he's not playing online?"

Well.... (looking for hidden mics in apt).... ok, there has been a few times where i have come back from work or just having an a day out w/friends, etc. When i return home i find that the 360 is running and online! But i know damn well before i leave my room i turn off the 360 (pays for electricity), its like a fixation i have on wasting energy. Well its turned on and online, now i thought it was maybe some friend of my GF sneaking in to play or something of the sort.

Anywho, i set traps up to see if the gamepad moves from its place , etc. No traps triggered ,EVER!
Unless i have game geek ghosts haunting my apt, im lead to believe that M$ is remotely triggering consoles to start to check on it for any differences in the log.Has any1 else had this happen to them and thought maybe it was their GF or family who did it?
It might be just an isolated insodent but just felt like sharing my exp.

I have read around and kinda jaw dropping for me was when i read a few other posts with similar if not exact claims of consoles on when not left on. Now im not sure whats happeneing there but isn't that an invasion of privacy? can they, without warning or casue do this? Though it might not be able to be proven, just eems kinda invasive to me.

So let me get this straight ... has anyone been banned for playing HOMEMADE (XBC) backups of retail, store purchased games? I have a modded box, Hitachi with latest iExtreme. I never play "downloaded" games or whatever, just backups of my own purchased games. Am I under the right impression that this is not a "bannable" setup? Or a setup that has not been banned generally so far?

No one knows really what is going on. Don't ask "Will I get banned if I have this and I do that?" Because no one knows.

I personaly think MS have in their database all the modded 360 and are banning them batches by batches. I say this because there isn't really one type of consoles or backup games they are banning. One guy said he got banned and he never plays backup games online and another said that he got banned with no game in the 360. Those 2 guys (Unless they were lying) just tell me that MS knows what 360 are modded when they log in.

If I get banned, then no bigy. I will just get me a PS3 because I am looking for an excuse to get one.

It applies to any console. Its not discriminatory on catching people's consoles. If there is an error in your part, you will pay for it,Legit or not if going on xbox live. If you miss something by accident,you're done for.There is no such thing as "unbannable" process. if you are playing on xbox live, that alone is making you breach your online contract u agreed to. Now if you make perfect backups (by law you must own the software). Its not the FW, thats doing above and beyond and is not meant to be used online but has been shown to be ok, but not fool proof. as he as well says use on LIVE at own risk. You have to make exact copies of your game bit for bit.

Attn downloaders!:
Downloading games from the net is a giant risk you take. You dont know how they made and what used but you never know,during the download you might not get everything exact.You're playing Russian roulette not only with xbox live but also with law enforcement, they been cracking down on stuff like this.
Not only does it hurt the industry ergo hurt the gamers in the long run. Support the makers of these games and if your not sure about getting a certain game, check out reviews/videos/etc or rent it.

Hard to tell so far. It seemed like a lot of people were posting in the last two days they were banned. Plus a lot of people are likely on vacation this week and are likely to come home and get a nice present from Microsoft.
