I have been backing up my games the past few nights (with Samsung D162C drive). The first few went okay, and passed the stealth check in the newest versions of all three apps I checked it with...
  • xdvdmulleter
  • Schtrom
  • XBC

However, I got stuck at Saint's Row. I have tried backing it up with both Schtrom and XBC.

The stealth check in Schtrom and XBC passes, but Mulleter says "stealth files are invalid according to database", using the CRC "Check online database" option. Which app should I trust? (I've been running the checks through all 3 apps to be safe). Thanks in advance for any pointers!

If you update your firmware to iXtreme 1.4... all your own backups should be safe with any program.

The online database does not have every variation of SS, DMI and PFI.. it tells you it is wrong just because it hasn't seen yours. I would leave it alone and not fix it.

We recently found out that new games ripped with kreon drives will give back a degree, that in combination with ixtreme jitter, will produce a 360 degree value. This would be a unacceptable range (should only be 0-359). This is a detectable and possibly a criteria for the recent ban waves. Also, this would explain why some users got banned playing the same games that others played, and did not get banned. The point of jitter is to randomly give back proper values. With that in mind, a random jitter value from a kreon drive, with a random jitter from a ixtreme drive will rarely give back a 360 degree value. This new ixtreme will wrap that value to ensure that no 360 degree value can be submitted.

basically the recent banning was a result of a bug between the ixtreme firmware and the kreon firmware. if you have a hitachi 78/79 drive and have to wait for the firmware for that drive, then just check your backups with kreon checker. once you have the new ixtreme 1.4 firmware, it will be a moot point though as the firmware fixes the problem without the need to reburn your backups.
