hey, i'm new at softmoding, and was wondering if you guys can answer some questions.....

1)when i hot swap to use Xbox HD maker, do i need to install some type of dashboard along with it?
2)if so, what do you recommend?
3)does he dashboards come with additional programs, ie DVD2Xbox or commandx(i think that's the name)?

i think i have the basic concept of how to hot swap, and hopefully i can get it working.

thx

Yeah you do need to put in a dash as otherwise there's very little point modding it, you'd end up with the standard MS dash...

Personally I'd HIGHLY recommend XBMC as your regular dash, it's excellent. You can copy over other dashes and launch them from the boot dash (see programs below).

You can get the programs separately (slayers disk or AID include dashes and programs you can extract from the ISO and copy over FTP to you xbox) and launch then via the dash. (including other dashes)
Generally the dash stops running and the program takes over...

I really like the UnleashX Dash, Nothing wrong with XBMC just perfer to use it as an app.

The xboxHDM/ndure XBE exploit comes with unleashx. If you want to change it then copy the new dash files over to the E:/Dash directory (I haven't done gamesaves and am not sure if they are structured teh same way) The xbe exploit boots to the dash in that directory.

I think XBMC. It can launch your apps the same as every other dash, has fan controls, looks the nicest (IMO), and I use my xbox1s almost exclusively as a media centers anyway. But it's personal preference.

Not really. You're probably better off getting the latest version rather than some cobbled evox bundle anyway.
