i have the same codes and i i have a quest know im banned after reading the statments made on this page. But im going to buy a new tomorrow (THANKS MCsoft) and i need to know if it bans my username and shit. And i could find the answer anywhere.

looks like I've been banned (@dbg17891: ), and so have a lot of other people. And apparently, most of them are legitimate.

Your live account will still work, your console just won't be able to connect.

Thats not a ban code , Live's messed up at the moment , look at the thread below this .

You are not banned. I have the same error and Live said they are having problems with the servers and to try to log on in an hour or 2. If i try to manually connect every so often it will log back on for a few. So most of Live users are having problems at this time.

Ya so i have been looking around like crazy for info on this and every site i check says my code means xbox live is down. From what i have noticed it is happening to alot of people today. Lol if its not up by X-mas and i cant play rockband online ima start shooting

thats the exact error message im getting and i found out this
Z: 0000-0000 means no offenses. Z is the section for any kind of suspension or bannable offenses
W: Conection. the 0000-0021 I believe the first 0000 means wired connection and the 0021 means wireless.

I've had 360 for bout 3 weeks -Unmodified. Its sat next to the tv since opening the box.

Xbox Live Gold also since I bought it. - Wired via Ethernet cable direct to pc.

Only game I play is Halo 3.

Tonight I got this code when the test failed at Xbox live.

Have signed up to this forum just to confirm, same error codes etc. My X Box live is down, not for the first time... with no real warning. Don't ever forget, you bought a Microsoft product, it will work, just not that well!

I too have the Y status code. If it isnt the Z line of coding then you should be just fine. I have the error code like ours but it just differs by a few digits.

What i have been reading and also heard the automated xbox live rep say was that xbox live has been having a few problems wiht the servers preventing people to sign on to live. I had the problem for a bit, got to log on then kicked power cord from the wall socket by accident now im no longer able to log on live. Keep getting the cant swign on live message.

@nocturnal654 , well sorry to tell you buddy but that is a banned console. If it IS unmodded ,then if i were you i would rant and rave at xbox techs.They have been unbanning consoles because alot of innocent people got caught up in the sweep,but i know a guy who didnt mod his console and got banned with no mods what so ever to it but still has yet to get back on live. What an asshole of a company M$ is.....

Here in Australia I've been getting the following, using wireless , worked fine for about 30 minutes this morning though but I haven't been able to get in for about 5 hours now:

I hope I'm not banned but I'm guessing from what I've read so far (Z: field containing 0s' is apparently good) it's a problem with Live?...

Alright so i have spent 2 hours of collecting different error messages to figure out what exactly they mean and i honestly could write a guide on them by this point. Here is what i have discovered


W: 0000-0021
X: 0000-F001
Y: 00A8-E840
Z: 0000-0000

That is what im sure most of you are seeing something like.

So here i am going to explain them to you.

W: Hardware setup (Ignore)

X: Connection End - Means connection to X-box live servers has failed

Y: Internet setup type 00A8 - E840 U.S.A. Version Wireless Receiver for X-Box 360 Console. Others would be Ethernet cable or out of U.S.A. model of receiver.

Z: X-Box Policy Offenses. 0000 - 0000 = No X-box offenses. Any other = Ban or Suspension

From what I've read in other forums, the Nightmare code is Z: 8015-190D - You dont want that, but if you copy games and try to get round things by adjusting firmware e.t.c, your asking for it. Your connected to the internet for f**k sake. Like it or not, Microsoft are the internet. They are bound to find out.

I have a unmodified xbox premium and it serves you right if your banned for illegal practices.
(I know you are technically allowed to 'back up' a game you own but lets face it, this isn't what 95% of copies are for)

OK, so I just got my 360 today and plugged it all in. Turned it on and said I wanted to create an Xbox Live account. It said it couldn't connect so I made it do a test. Everything was confirmed working until Xbox Live which failed with the following error codes:

Well I have an error code thing, and it fails at the MTU.

It has been down for me for 4 days now. So now I'm coming to this place for help. Just in case it matters, I use a wireless thing to hook up to the internet.

I got a problem when i try to sign in to xbox live.
Sometims when i try to sign in i get connection, but most of the time i get an error message: Can't connect to Xbox LIVE. When i test my connection i often get MTU - Failed. What can i do? (i use wireless connection) Staus codes:

Hey folks. I have a modded 360 but it hasnt been online since well before the last update. went to turn it on a few weeks back and it wont let me online. The tests pass everything except XBL heres my codes

I just picked up a second hand 360 today... It was tested out in front of me as far as games working on it but not on Live. My stupid fault really. I've got it home tonight and just tried to connect:

Now I wonder if I should by me a new xb360 or a ps3.....

got it back today , they replaced motherboard as expected but not my dvd rom, which is flashed ,

but i cant connect to xbox live now, fails on test at "xbox live section" and i get the following status codes

Sent my Xbox360 away to get fixed, it had the 1 RROD, anyway got it back on the weekend.

I called MS back and after convincing them there was nothing wrong at my end, I'm sending the console and power supply back to them. Looks like I could be getting a replacement unit.
