I've been thinking of removing the little black screws that screw through the metal case and into the xclamps to relieve some of the pressure off the board, So i thought i'd ask here if there will be any real benefit from removing these screws.

Those screws just hold the metal case together. They don't actually hold the x-clamps down.

So no benefit at all.
