I have some avi, some of the subtitle is under .sub extension, some under .srt.

those under srt work ok, those subtitle under .sub, not showing up. When i start the avi, it have a dialoge box, said loading the .sub but i don't see it showing up at all when playing the movie.

also i am a bit confuse where to put the sub, in the old version 2.1 and 2.2, i put the subtitle with the same folder of the movie,

like:

aaa.avi
aaa.srt

but i read some other guide, it said i need to put the sub in the subtitle folder inside the xbmp directory??

Also any easy tool to convert .sub to .srt??

So can anyone explain?? thanks

when you want to use a .sub files you need to do the following things:

1. Use mediaplayer subtitles (see xbmp menu settings)
2. you need the .sub & .idx files
3. give those the exact same name as the .avi file (copy the file name to be sure)

Then it will work. The subtitle will be in the screen.

Good luck

so i need another file have .idx? beside the .sub?

so if i don't have it, is it not working?

so should i put in same directory of the movie?

(this is for version 2.4)
