do you need a samsung or hatachi drive to rip games?

or can you use ohter drives?

You can use either and Im sure there are more makes of drive that that out there. Aslong as you flash using the correct kreon firmware for the right make drive then everything should be alright.

If you have problems actually burning the discs using any other dvdrw's then buy a new one Id say.

I couldnt burn without errors until I got my new Pioneer dvr-115d

see i read on the iso building forum about the pioneer 112 drive and in it, it said it could RIP games. but i got it today and tried ripping it and it didnt work.

and then i bought the drive on ebay. i bought a 112 drive but they sent me a 115D drive. so i was frightened they sent me the wrong drive.

but since you said its a good drive i trust your word
