I'm trying to connect my 360 to xbox live but I just can't seem to get a connection nomatter what io try, and now I'm really confused, I've looked on the official help site and I'm none the wiser.
Basically I'm connecting my 360 to my PC with a standard Ethernet cable directly to the back of the pc, no router or anything. I have ADSL USB modem. I set my network config to obtain IP automatically, same with DNS server but when I try to connect to live it says it can;t so it runs a check. It passes the Network adaptor test and the IP Address but when it comes to DNS it fails, now I don't know what to do.
Can somebody pleeeease help me as it's kidna annoying tbh.
Thanks

Hi,
first off you will need to use a "crossover" cable to connect the 360 directly
to your pc, and not the regular "straight" through cable that comes bundled
with the 360.
you will also probably need to run the ICS (internet connection sharing) wizard
on your pc to allow the 360 to work in this way.

Hi
I'm just using the same cable that I use to FTP into my Xbox. Is that a crossover cable? I didn't get a cable bundled in with the 360 as I got the arcade pack.

OK thanks, after a bit of tinkering about I finally sorted it, had my numbers the wrong way around on my settings.
