So, I just bought Bioshock. I read that you need an update to the game to be able to play it correctly on a widescreen TV, which is what I'll be playing it on. Problem is, my 360 is banned, so I can't just go get it from Live. Is there any way to download the patch from elsewhere and get it on my hard drive? I don't have the adapter to connect the hard drive to my computer, but will definitely get one if it will solve this problem.
Thanks

One option would be to take your hard drive to another 360 that is connected to live and get it that way...

Yes, that's fairly easy, but it's not always an option. I myself don't have two 360's, and I don't really want to commandeer my friend's 360 all the time to download patches for my games.
Is there really no other way? I know the divx codecs can be downloaded onto the hard drive, so I thought it might be possible with game updates as well.
