ok so in my downlload the gyu included 2x,5x,10x,and 12x i think so i flashed with 12x what does this mean, is this bad im using verbatim dual layers burnt at like 1 or maby 2x speed. Will this get me banned what speed shouldve i flashed with. It seems to play my backups fine

12x is fine, that is the speed that the stock 360 drive reads disks at. It has no relation to what speed you burn the disks at, but the recommended speed to burn at is 2.4x. This has nothing to do with getting banned it just means that you will have a lower chance of having errors in the burn.

k thanks, but what are the other speeds for? my friend usually burns my backups so does that mean even with this new firmware i have to use kreon checker? and what do i do if i find a bad sectore, how can i fix it

The other speeds are so the drive will run more quietly, however loading times are increased. If using iExtreme 1.4 using Kreon checker is not needed, because iExtreme will only run properly stealthed backups. To check/fix an improperly stealthed backup, use xdvdmulleter.

Is it safe to assume the using the 8x firmware version of 1.4 is still safe? Im currently running 12x and my drive makes far too much noise! If I do use the 8x version are my chances of being banned from live any higher?

So does flashing at 2X mean that the load speed will be slower ? Sorry if this is a newb question

Yes, 2x is the slowest, so you will need to be patient,most people wouldn't use it, most people stick with 5x or 8x

ah right, i just went with the slowest thinking it was relating to the speed i burn em at ,, think i'll reflash to 5 or 8 tonight
