i want to know if i use the xbox 360 open without the top cover (like a pc case, without the left case cover) if i leave the xbox 360 open, could it work better?

Well, you'd get a bit more cool air coming into the case/board area, but it would be noisier... So it's up to you.

Here is the thing
If you want to open it, than you must leave xbox where is it other wise, you will have some hard time (with all the open part)
other wise, you can just punch a hole and add a fan directly above GPU and CPU and draw power source from you old fan in the back (useless fan that comes with xbox)
