I bought a pre-modified Elite last year that originally had a Benq drive. The shop replaced the Benq with a Samsung M25 and spoofed it as a Benq VAD6038-64930C. It recently went back for repair as the fitted Blaster360 failed and I could not use the XBOX at all. I asked them to upgrade the firmware to 1.4 but they said it can not be done with existing firmwares. They said they tried 1.4 but get error E65 after it has been flashed. Flashing the Samsung back to 1.2c makes it work again. This suggests to me that is believes the 1.4 firmware to be incorrect for that drive/motherboard. The shop said they spoofed 1.4 as a Benq before flashing but it still failed.

Is there a way I can upgrade my Samsung to 1.4 firmware or would it be better for me to install a new drive? Any thoughts would be appreciated guys.

Cheers,
