my xbox got the rrod a about 5 mins ago so im doing the towel trick so i can maybe play this weekend before sending it back and i was wondering if any one know the average life legnth after doing the towel thing?

It Really depends sometimes after you do it and let it cool down then play it, works for a few days but dont stop that from sending it in.

not long at all. it will screw up sooner or later or you will screw it up while doing it. making electronic components overheat=bad. do the x-clamp fix.

think he has warranty though, so the smarter thing would be to send it in.

Remember you want it to have the RROD if you are claiming it under the extended 3 yr warranty and not the standard 1yr.

If you fix it with the towel trick temporarily... and it no longer has the RROD.. MS may not fix it for free. You may have to wait until it dies again before sending it in...

i know, it stopped again today.
im just doing it so i can play this weekend.
it obviously isn't going to live for much longer so im sending it Monday er when it breaks again, theres a terrible thing called report cards on Monday(supposively theres this thing called college i am supposed to go to ) so im playing as much as i can this weekend
