Hey there,
Is there any reason to Use SMB vs Relax/XNS or visa versa? Is one faster than the other or are there other advantages or reasons? I'm using SMB now becuase it is simple and I don't have to install anything extra on my PC's.
Just curious
Thanks

For me, Relax is easier. The only effort Relax required for me was editing the XBMP configuration file to define my Relax shares. Then when I want stuff to be shared, I just run Relax. Since I'm on a large network, I enjoy having a bunch of Relax shares that nobody knows to access better than having a bunch of SMB shares that people could access.
Plus disabling a bunch of SMB shares is a pain, while the only pain of disabling Relax shares is shutting down Relax.
Edit: Additionally, you can setup Relax to only accept connections from a particular IP. Since my Xbox has a static IP on my network, it means that NOBODY could access my Xbox shares unless they took my static IP.
