But all new mobos that I can find has a PLCC type of BIOS - little square 9x7 (the same 32 contacts).

I think it can be used too, but I don't know the numbers of the contacts!

Find the data sheet for the TSOP chip you plan to use. IE. here is the data sheet for the actual bios chip in the XBOX. Notice that both PSOP and TSOP pinouts are noted for this package. http://www.hynix.com/eng/products/flash/do...wn/HY29F080.pdf then you should be able to note the differences in the pinouts and using the ROM pinout pics on bunnie's site http://web.mit.edu/bunnie/www/proj/anatak/xboxmod.html you should be able to make it work. Although this is a much harder chip to solder and you'd be better off finding an early Pentium computer either online or at a local thrift store. Most of these have DIP style bios chips. You should be able to get one for under $25.00
