hi, i have a hitachi 78fk which is faulty. i need to get the drive key out to spoof the sammy which i have to replace it but the problem is when i install the disk it doesnt seem to spin up. is there any other way to get the key or does anyone know how to fix the spinning up problem????

well i think the only other way is to desolder the flash chip and have some1 with a programmer try fix it im sure if you look in the installers section you will find someone who could do this for you either that or if you have a original dump of fw you could then use this on your sammy ie spoof i think this is your best options

ahh or just take apart ur drive take the spidel off and clean the shit thats under it it's prob full of dust that turned to dirt

Failing that, borrow another Hitachi and swap the boards. If it's just the mechanics, you'll be able to get the drive working enough to read the DVD key via Firmware Toolbox.
