Finding:
- There are two slightly differently 2858 update files! maybe one of them had bugs and MS fixed it quickly, who knows?!?!?

thanks, does that last update include the media update to play divx or are you still unable to download this update

You will probably never be able to install the media update on a banned console. You can download the codecs and put them on the harddisk, but you still need a licence from Live that is bound to your console.

I have Unrar the files and burned them to a disk, loaded them on a banned Xbox360 and loaded it in the disk drive, it will not read the file a boot off the disk, it says MULTI MEDIA DISK in the game bar but when you highlight it you cant hit the A button to activate it.

I have also tried to leave the disk in the drive and start it up to "Autoload" the disk so no luck there.

Anyone have any sugestions to update the dash board or am I really Outta luck?

Burn $SystemUpdate folder (not the 2.0.xxxx.0 folder) to disc and insert in your 360. Turn x360 off and power it on again. If your dashboard version is lower than the update on the disc, you will be prompted to update.

I haven't been able to find this question asked specifically. I just flashed the 360 and have not been in the scene for years. I have a MFR date of February and another in March of 2008 and was wondering if i can take the updates i find on orignal game dics safely without concern that it may have an effect on my flahsed system. Please don't answer this question if you are not 100% sure .

when do u think the next dashboard update will come? isnt it gonna be the fall dashboard? will it be safe for the flashed firmware ppl?

I have a flashed firmware and after i did the latest update (august 06 2008) my xbox freezes during gameplay of certain games (not all), im sure it started to happen after i did this update, is the any way i can downgrade this dashboard update?
