Hello, donīt you think that microsoft could locate the NME chip because of the "patching" it requires to do to the dvdīs??? it probably change some specific region of the dvdīs, so microsoft could put a routine to check if that region is patched and if yes then they would know you have a NME2.0 chip and would ban you. What do you say about that?
captianmo81
The only way Mircosoft is going to be able to scan your disc to find out such things is if you are playing them on live, which you are not supposed to do anyhow. The NME2 does not say that you can play backups on Live without being banned. You can however, play your backups offline and be fine even though you are connected to Live before starting your game. You can do this because of the Network off feature that disables the network when a backup game is inserted or played. So yes if you want to play a backup game on Live, go ahead but your chances of getting banned are probably 99.9%. Best bet-----don't play backups on Live. I know this all sounds stupid, because you can use a softmod and never get banned as long as you are not playing on Live, but there are people who do like playing on Live with their original game disc that the Network off feature helps to make this possible. I do not know why I am even breaking this down, I just got my NME2 chip 3 days ago and have yet to get a game to work, so I am about to go the softmod route and say screw the NME2 chip. Hope this helped some how or some way.

afaik if you use ixtreme with stealth 100% checked discs you are absolutly free to play a backup online without getting banned. The bans ocurred when people werenīt using stealth discs. so proably ixtreme + stealth is already 100% protected but what NME do is keep the original firmware inside the machine, thatīs why Iīm thinking if itīs really better than ixtreme, but I have that question in my first post that could lead to NME detection.
crapoid685
Yeah Pedro, you go ahead and keep believing that. Stealth backups are not 100% secure. If you think that MS can't come up with a way to detect those, then you need some help. They are secure up until now but you never know when a new detection scheme will be implemented. Post back WHEN you get banned.

The assumptions in your topic and thread comments are pointless conjecture. This thread should be closed.

sorry man im not trying to rip on you or anything just saying,
make sure you read what you are posting before you post it, and make sure it makes clear sence to you
before you do.
you dont play burned games on xbox live, only offline (unless you want to or dont mind having the console banned from xbox live)
the only way to play games on xbox live is thru originals with no risk or fear of ban whatsoever
playing a single player burned game (Tomb Raider for example) on your xbox while you are able to view your friends list and send messages all that junk constitutes playing on xbox live, some people think they are only playing on xbox live if they are playing a multi player game with multiple people, thats not the case, anytime you can see your friends list, send and recieve messages, private chat, all that can only be done if connect to xbox live, only connect to xbox live if original game disc in tray, otherwise prepare for ban in the near future

Perhaps you should join him in furthering his education. I quoted what you typed. See below what you really should have typed.
