This actually looks like it may be half decent!

Guitar Hero: On Tour

Where to start on this one......

Problem #1: Since you hold this thing like a shield, It doesn't resemble a real guitar whatsoever anymore
Problem #2: There is only 4 fret buttons...
Problem #3: Unless you can flip the thing upside down, lefties are out in the cold
Problem #4: The DS has enough room for like 20 songs, meaning very little replay value
Problem #5: If you are holding the ds with your right hand, and strumming with the left, you are effectively blocking the screen with the incoming notes!
Problem #6: What about those of us who prefer the original DS?

and don't even get me started on the comercial.....

#1 So? You still play it like one.
#2 Just like a bass. smile.gif
#3 You can probably flip it over. Many games incorporate this. Brain Age, Hotel Dusk, etc.
#4 Depending on the quality they are shooting for, they can fit as many songs on as they like. They could even sell the stand-alone cartridge if they want. If they were smart, they would have the game data on the GBA slot, and the song data on the DS slot. They probably wont do that though.
#5 As with the rumble pack, I wouldn't be surprised if you were left out, or had to order special. Even if nothing was available, I am sure a 3rd party accessory would show up.

@ the first post... as a righty, I feel more screwed over this.. because when I play GH, I hit the fret buttons with my left hand.. clearly this is made for a lefty. lol

Actually, I was thinking they could use the GBA slot for executable code as well.... and I suppose if the quality were put to 64kbps or less it could hold a decent amount of songs. But I think i'll stick with jam sessions

basses have just as many frets as guitars lol, you are thinking strings, and even so, basses can have as many (and more) strings than guitars.

plus bass, if we aren't playing 70's porno music, just isn't very exciting to play in guitar hero

A game like this on the DS will have some fail but it will also Be kinda of kool to see what they deliver. They have already said that it will work with both DS models. as for how many songs I would assume that since you have to have the fret piece then they would possibly put song and/or game data on that to get more songs into the game. I for one am going to buy this cause I like it when companys try some thing different.

Looks like fun.

Their design takes away the whole novelty of playing guitar hero. Something like this would be better:

what are you talking about?

you hold the ds in the palm of your left hand (and press the fret buttons)

you hold the back/bottom of the ds as if its the neck of the "guitar"

and strun the string of the ds.

Hacked version of this game doesn't require the guitar add-on.. sadly takes away from the rock star awesome that comes along with any guitar hero game.. but still fun. A tad hard to get use to, but more convenient for the pocket I'd say.
