I tried the SEARCH function to figure this out but it's wanky for me today sad.gif

I got a lot of about a dozen AS IS 360 HDs in the other day... By confirming working MBs and working MEDIA thru mix-matching, I was able to get a couple fully functional..

My next step is to see if some of the others just have formatting problems by putting them on an XP workstation and seeing if I can recognize them and format them..

My question is this. Assuming I can get some "fixed" in this manner, how would I turn them back into 360 HDs??

Yeah, there is a section on this form, I forget, that discusses HDD issues. One of the programs called HDD Hacker by the Specialist, allows one to replace the 360 HDD with a Western Digital Scorpio drive. One of the requirements is to extract the hss.bin file which holds the KEY from the Original 360 HDD, which is then injected into the replacement drive. Without the key, the replaced hdd will not work.

However, this KEY/hss.bin is copyrighted, so asking for it is against the forum rules.
