Hi,

Did somebody tried to put the Xbox 360 hardware in a PC case or a Mediacentre case? I have the idea to do so and the reason is to make it a very VERY quiet system. Maybe you saw website where this is done, please let me know, thanks!

Wow dude, I take it English is not your first language.

I am curious in doing something similar.

I just want to put the mobo onto a custom backing with some space inbetween for air to flow and just build a case around it.

I presume the case and hardware are constructed in such a way that there are pitfalls for doing so though?

It kind of defeats the purpose, since you can just buy a Media Center PC instead...a much more reliable one, with more RAM and A/V options...and a real web browser.

That is correct. I re-read the first post and found 1 mistake in a sentence. Would you be so kind to help me correct my first post, so I can see what I did wrong?

I didn't remove the mainboard yet, so I have no idea if any of the screws meet the normal ATX standards. Did you check this already?

I'm not planning to create a Media Center. I'm planning to mod my Xbox so it will be, first of all, a quiet system. It could be in a Media Center, but it could also be a normal PC case.

if your from the uk, or anywhere english speaking other than the us, it is centre not center.

the 360 mobo doesn't line up with any atx standards. Giga_Death was saying, i think, to put a peice of plexi glass in between the 360 motherboard and the case. this way you can have standard atx holes drilled along with the 360 holes. just put spacers in between the motherboard and perspex

The plexiglass solution seems good enough. I'll try that. Thanks!
