I recently got a 16GB Ipod Touch (Firmware version- 1.1.4) the last week of March and jailbroke it a few days ago. Before I jailbroke it, I thought it was an excellent product, but once I did jailbreak it, it turned an excellent product into a super duper excellent one!

I've spent hours installing new sources and installing various applications, games, etc.

Here's what I've installed:
Games-
-NES (emulator for NES)
-snes4iphone (emulator for SNES)
-genesis4iphone (emulator for Sega Genesis)
-gpSPhone (emulator for GBA)
-iCopter (ported from that one helicopter game)

So what apps do you guys have? Recommend? etc?

Problems I've experienced:
-Books.app doesn't work for me
-Installer.app says there are 4 bajillion updates I need to install.. but the damn number of updates never goes down
-Some applications won't install (probably a 1.1.4 thing)
-That's all I can think of for now

IMPORTANT- Do not discuss where to get ROMs for your iPhone/iTouch emulators.. it's against Xbox-Scenes rules/TOS

Im going to picking up one here pretty soon, been looking into what its able to do. Getting pretty excited

i have a 1.1.4 jailbroke 16 gig touch.
i got it around november, it had 1.1.2 on it, i downgraded and jailbroke and had a 1.1.2 jailbreak. as soon as the 1.1.3 jailbreak came out, i updated, very few apps were updated for it, so i went back to 1.1.2. i had that up until last week, but now i have 1.1.4.
im not sure what apps i have installed on it...
but i have summerboard
customize
all the iphone apps
contrasense
a parking lot puzzle game
touchpad (use ipod as mouse)
apollo im (instead of mobile chat)
hmm... i think iradio (shoutcast radio player)
and i think that may be it.

I tried to do it on my iPhone. Idk what I did wrong. I used a program for Windows. It seemed all the good ones for a mac. But anyways, when I turned it on, it was having some kind of kernel freakout. Thats how the guy at the store explained. It was black screen, scrolling white code over and over and ove again. Couldn't even reset or anything. So when I took it to the Apple Store I told the guy I was installing the new update and my computer restarted in the middle of it. HAHA. Gotta lie when it come to a $400 phone. Havn't tried it again since then.

and as for jailbreaking it yayupp... just look into ziphone. all you do is restore to 1.1.4 in itunes
then open ziphone... and click jailbreak. then itll do everything by itself. and youre good to go.
ive jailbroke mine with jailbreakme.com... then when i went to 1.1.2 i used the .bat script after oktoprep.. then when i went to 1.1.3 the first time, i used the soft update from installer... then also the ziphone way. each way worked.so look into it... jailbroken is FAR FAR better than stock. just look at an unmodded xbox compared to a modded one

$400 is just too much for a phone IMO. The last 3 laptops I've bought combined don't even add up to that much.

I'm lovin' my jailbroken Ipod Touch. I had to rejailbreak it recently though.. in which I used iLiberty+ for Windows. I like it a lot more than ziphone.. especially since you can choose to install Cydia, which in my opinion is better than Installer.

I have 6 "pages" of applications. lol. I've used Categories before to organize my springboard/homescreen.. but I think that led to my problem last time, which caused me to have to rejailbreak. So idk if I should install it or not. lol

I just got mine 2-3 weeks ago and havent done too much with it. Jailbroke it right out of the box, got some themes, games, CollQ, and mobile chat. Ill be using it more in the fall when i go back to school since the entire campus has wireless

the mobile scrobbler is probably the coolest app i have.

Question- Anyone else have trouble connecting to wireless networks that are password protected/encrypted/etc?

what is screenview for touchpad pro?

also what repo did you get intelliscreen from?

screenview for touchpad pro just allows you to view your computer screen... so it's more remote-access-ish. It's apparently the only app to support high resolution screens. Here's a youtube link demonstrating the screenview feature.

I've been jailbreaking my ipod touch since jailbreaking just came out....

And i dont have any password encrypted wireless things to connect to so i can't try it for ya'

So has anyone done this on an iPhone? I'm just worried if I F*** it up, then I'm F***ed because how am I going to contact people.

My phone is already at 1.1.4, so am I good to go? Or should I restore and re-upgrade?

i got bored...so i messed around some to get a new theme.
the icons are called "Green Cubes" i had to download it and transfer it over from my laptop.
i made the wallpaper and badge icon.
i got a new set of skullcandy full metal jackets...and theyre green. so i had to make my ipod match haha.






hows it look? (btw, i noticed the blue header battery, so i went back to the normal one, it fits perfectly, but once i get time, ill go and make a black/white/green one, so itll be better)

theme looks okay but nice music, I have all that music and im pretty sure its on my touch as well

blahh.. I've restored and rejailbroken literally atleast 5 times in the last 24 hours. I keep installing apps.. and once it gets to like the 6th "screen/page/springboard/whatev".. I get the SWoD (spinning wheel of death). Omgg.. I just wanna pwn this thing against the wall then eat it.. then throw it up and hulk-smash it.

I've been trying to narrow down the problem.. and I just don't know what it is. On some I've had bsd subsystem installed.. some not.. no different. I've used bosstool to move the apps on some.. but not others.. no different. On some I've installed Categories.. some not.. no different. I just don't know what's causing it!

And does anyone know what "Downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9FakeBlank" means? lol. I use iLiberty to jailbreak it and there's an option for that.. but I think that's mainly an iPhone thing.. idk. It's one thing I haven't used in my last 5 jailbreaks.. maybe I should try it?

btw, I tried "Screenview" for touchpadpro.. it's badass. I like it a lot. I've set it up so I can access my comp from any network, but I haven't been able to try it because none of my neighbors have wi-fi and I haven't gone to a friends house lately.. but I'll try it eventually. lol

Mmk.. I've seem to have gotten my iPod Touch working correctly.. lol ::knock on wood::. But one thing, does anyone have trouble changing their [default.. I guess] email address? I can add a new one, change the current one, delete the current one and add a new one, etc.. but as soon as I exit, hit up the springboard, and go back to the email settings, my old email address is still there. Idk what to do!

hmm.. i think there was a patch released on installer to fix that.. but i may be wrong. look for it under 1.1.3/1.1.4 tweaks and there should be a fix for mobile mail. hopefully thatll fix it

Yup, there is a fix to that problem. If you don't have it, get ipodtouchmaster's repo....I know its in there for sure

Mmk.. it def wasn't in Installer or Cydia, so I'll get that repo soon.

Anyone install "Vista Perfection" from Installer!? It's a full SMB theme.. it's really well done (if ya' like Vista that is. lol)

I just got home and started messing with it. It takes a little work to full setup, but it's cool. Here's a picture (not mine.. but it looks almost identical)

2 questions - Where does the Vista circular logo come from? I'm assuming it's an application.. but idk what app. Also, where does the "WMC" button come from? I don't think I have that app (I know it's not really WMC)..

Oo, another question... can you put a category inside a category? I haven't tried it.. just wondering if it's possible.

blah. Email still won't work properly. I can't delete my current email account, nor can I create a new one. Nothing saves.. nothing works. I installed the mailfix, but nope.. that didn't work either. Anyone got any ideas?

And double blah. I can't get Intelliscreen to work. When I try to install from Cydia, I get a script error. I can successfully install Intelliscreen from Installer, but when I try to change settings, I get an error (err# 7xx.. I don't remember exactly what the number is). I've tried SFTPing into it and deleting all the Intelliborn related stuff.. but I still can't get it to work. [sigh]

so i decided to try out winpwn today since i wanted some custom boot icons..
what a hell that has been.
first it didnt install installer, so whatever, ill go back to normal then try iliberty+...ha. no go.
ok, restore again and use ziphone like ive always done.
ziphone installs, restarts and im at the springboard. click installer, it refreshes and all that stuff and installer updates... now whenever i go into installer, it freezes. ive restored then jailbroke like 4 times now. its getting old.

ok, i think i finally got it.
i redid it with iliberty again, and installed bsd subsystem, app tapp, and cydia with it.
so far so good, ive been able to install openssh and sumerboard.. now i gotta get the rest of them haha. luckily i have screen shots to see what i need to install haha

I know how you feel man.. I had to restore like 6 times within 24 hours.. it was terrible. I'd install like 80 apps.. then I'd have to restore and do it all over again.

But yeah, I'd really like to change my email address.. this is getting annoying. lol
