Full Version: E74 Help? Replaced The X Clamps, No Go

my friend gve me his broken 360 for free, it has the 1 red ring e74, tried to replace video cables but still no go, so I removed the x clamps off the cpu and the gpu cleaned all old thermal paste off, of the actual cores and the heatsinks and replaced with artic silver 5 i did apply put like a couple grains of rice instead of one, i dont see how that would make a differenece, and i put the original x clamps back one and nothing happened grr.gif so the second time i redid the same thing but with only the gpu this time and still no progress , mad.gif i get the same error when i connect it to the tv? any suggestions? its an really old xbox and was on like atleast 7> hours a day( and yes i mean everyday my friends a nerd), maybe its something w/ the ana/hana chip? any help would be great! biggrin.gif

Replacing the x-clamps using lawdawgs (sp?) method mixed my e74

replace the x clamps. If that doesn't work, heatgun the scaler chip.

i cant find the screws here in canada ive tried homo depot but all the customer service agents are to shitty to help, i mean i went in there for the parts listed for lawdawgs replacement method and the guy gave me the wrong screws so ive given uo finding them unless someone can point out where i can find them

Well if there is a home depot near you...idk...get them yourself. I went into Lowe's a couple of days ago and I found all the shit myself...
