I've recently been involved in an accident (not at fault). We both have Allstate and I've already been to the claims person for a damage appraisal. I'm just waiting for the other person's claim agent to get back to me so they can give me a check. What I was wondering is if anyone knows if I can just use the check they give me to fix the car on my own and just pocket whatever is left over.

if they just cut you a check its yours to do with whatever you want, i got hit about a year and a half ago and just got a check, i spent the money on something totally different and never did fix my bumper, lol

lol. Yeah I thought about doing that but I at least want to fix the bumper. Hopefully they'll mail it out today.
